Best Poker Faces Ever

October 25th, 2012

A few nights ago, I went upstairs to tell Jack goodnight and discovered this scene on his bedroom floor.

You can see that there are four hands in this game.

I can only surmise that Jack must have been the fourth.

I asked Jack about the game.  He said that he was winning (of course) but that “Bunny” was within forty points.

“Wolfy was losing, but “Catty” was also not faring particularly well.

Jack may not be very original when it comes to naming his stuffed animals, but in other ways….

  • Kait:

He names his stuffed friends the same way I do. But I have never played cards with mine.

Oh… I had/have a dear named “Dearie.” I had a real duck, that was black, that I named “Lambie” because I had a book with a picture of a black lamb. I love Jack’s names for his animals…

  • Luke and Jack are about the same age, and I’m happy to see another 11 year old still likes stuffed animals. Luke also is very original with the names. His fish was fishy-fishy. Although the best name he ever gave anything was when he was in the habit of pretending to a dog, for hours. He ate like a dog, fetched like a dog, and ran like a dog, his namw was Cabinet. Always made me laugh.

That is the sweetest thing! Don’t you love finding evidence of that spark of creativity when all too often we find them with their face in front of a screen?
