Prom… Again.

May 1st, 2012

It’s that time of year again!

Time for prom!

Calder opted for a red plaid vest this year.

After two years of pink, it was a nice change.

This is his third prom.

He told me that he is NOT going to go to prom next (his senior) year.

I guess he’s had enough of the prom experience.

Getting ready for the group photo…

The group photo…

I loved the frothy hem lines on many of this year’s dresses.

So pretty.

They reminded me of ballet tutus.

Our town park is prom central until the kids head off for dinner.

This is the third year in a row that we have had perfect weather.

How much longer can this go on???

This dress reminded me of the famous yellow dress that Kate Hudson wore in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.

I call this one – Girl in Prom Dress With Cell Phone by Pond.

Lots of sparkly dresses this year…

And who doesn’t like a little sparkle in a dress?

I asked Calder what he is going to do if he is dating a girl who wants to go to prom next year?

He looked at me and sighed deeply and said, “I guess I will go to prom.”

Oh the terrible burdens my boy must bear!

  • Kait:

His date this year sure has a killer smile. What a lovely bunch of young people. And I am loving the dresses & suits. So many prom pics I have been seeing lately the girls all look like hookers. This was a nice change. :)

  • How tall is he Rechelle?! Can’t believe that’s him! Cute dresses and smiling faces! :)

    • Rechelle:

He’s 6’3. Taller than his dad.

      • Wow! My son is hoping to get that tall, we’ll see. I must say, as your boys have gotten older your two eldest look an awful lot like you. I always thought Ethan did, but Calder really does. I remember you saying once that you had the exact same baby 4 times, and they were all Malins. That always made me giggle. :)

  • Kathy from NJ:

He is GORGEOUS, Rechelle, and he looks like a very nice young man. And I’m pretty sure males continue to get taller until they’re around 21 or so – you could ask your doctor. I love his date’s dress, she certainly has the legs for it. Did any of the girls’ heels get caught in the wooden decking on the bridge?

    • Rechelle:

No major falls occurred, but the high heels caused more than one serious wobble.

  • JenW:

They all look wonderful! And your son just keeps getting more handsome every day. All your boys do.

  • I love his date’s stylish dress. She looks better than Angela Jolie…no joke.

  • Dot-Calm:

“He looked at me and sighed deeply and said, “I guess I will go to prom.”

He respects women. You are obviously a great mom.
