This house…

I insisted on pausing to admire the urns.

My mom and I both loved the curtains in the dining room.

The plates and bowls were from TJ Maxx.

This living room…

I loved this living room…

Everything about it.

‘Tis perfection to me.

And once again, we both loved the curtains.

I tried to take a photo of the bathroom without getting my reflection.

However, I seemed to be unable to accomplish this simple task.
So then I remembered that I had just gotten my hair cut, colored and highlighted…

And I embraced the reflection photo.

A K-State student designed one of the guest bedrooms.

I thought she did a spectacular job.

And once again…

The curtains.  Loved them.

Fun dragonfly chair.

The master bed and bath was a mite funky…

But the master bath had the best accessories in the entire house.

This painting.

My fingers longed to rip it from the wall and take it home with me.

Yet another picture of the painting I left behind.

Same artist – different painting.

Great vintage glass containers on the marble counter-tops.

The kid’s room.

The designer in this room re-purposed the old kitchen cabinets for the kid’s bathroom.

Poor quality photo of the designer kitchen…

Upon leaving the house, we ventured around the neighborhood.

Most of the homes were built in the 1920′s.  A great era for American architecture.

And then I drove home.

Sherlock!

May 2nd, 2012

New Sherlock episodes are airing this Sunday on PBS.

I certainly hope you have plans to watch it.

The first season was fabulous.

Even my boys are looking forward to the new episodes.

They are going to watch PBS with their mom!

WITH THEIR MOM!!!!

And I don’t even have to MAKE THEM!

Seriously though, if you haven’t caught any of the new Sherlock shows on PBS, I am going to have to insist that you correct this grave oversight by watching the latest installments this Sunday.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Prom… Again.

May 1st, 2012

It’s that time of year again!

Time for prom!

Calder opted for a red plaid vest this year.

After two years of pink, it was a nice change.

This is his third prom.

He told me that he is NOT going to go to prom next (his senior) year.

I guess he’s had enough of the prom experience.

Getting ready for the group photo…

The group photo…

I loved the frothy hem lines on many of this year’s dresses.

So pretty.

They reminded me of ballet tutus.

Our town park is prom central until the kids head off for dinner.

This is the third year in a row that we have had perfect weather.

How much longer can this go on???

This dress reminded me of the famous yellow dress that Kate Hudson wore in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.

I call this one – Girl in Prom Dress With Cell Phone by Pond.

Lots of sparkly dresses this year…

And who doesn’t like a little sparkle in a dress?

I asked Calder what he is going to do if he is dating a girl who wants to go to prom next year?

He looked at me and sighed deeply and said, “I guess I will go to prom.”

Oh the terrible burdens my boy must bear!
