Sunday Funnies

June 5th, 2011

Last Sunday Rechelle Unplugged brought you ‘My Drunk Kitchen’

This Sunday she brings you this.  I read it twice and laughed hysterically both times.  I think I may have found myself a new funny blog to read.

  • Ha! She’s a riot! I’m going to have to read more of her.

I found this one, and though it was funny-

A dad wore a different costume to see his 15-yr old son off on the school bus each morning. I see years of therapy ahead for his boy.

    • Reehash:

That is EXCELLENT Kelly !!!!! What a great idea. I wish I’d thought of it when my kids were bus riding age.

    • Rechelle:

Oh my gosh Kelley – that is hysterical!

    • LucyJoy:

That’s AWESOME! Make me wish the bus went by our house! I could have soooo much fun!

  • cindylou:

Plese read this thread regarding you
this will bring lots of traffic to your blog…

    • Kay in KCMO:

Oh my. They seem a bit humor-impaired, don’t they?

      • LucyJoy:

The certainly are….So sad. Life’s too short to take it so seriously.

    • Véronique Gölz:

Rechelle, I hope you have enough real people around you who can understand your sense of humor. You are doing a great job with the Pie Near Woman and instead of discussing your sanity I think people should thank you for your honesty and the great skills you have at denouncing things that are not ‘right’. I don’t wan’t to mention the E word, but I really think you would love living here in Europe! You would probably miss the big american skies though….One cannot have everything.

      • Rechelle:

I have long suspected myself a closeted European.

    • Wow, their undies must be really tight. They all seem a bit cranky.

    • Kait:

OH MY GOD. MY EYES. What a bunch of uptight sanctimonious idiots. I cannot believe people with no understanding of anything making such sweeping statements. I guess we are all painted with the same brush as well because we read it and enjoy it.

  • ND:

Thanks for the link to such a funny blog–always enjoy having a new blog to follow!

  • Rechelle,

I am MOV. I am the one who wrote the blog you linked above. Thank you thank you thank you infinity (as my son Tall would say) for the link and the exposure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My traffic has gone through the roof. It is really nice to be introduced to your readers because they are the type of people who “get” me and have a similar sense of humor (hint: wacky).

I am very grateful to you for reading my blog. I am so glad it made you laugh. I have been writing it for just over one year (I try to post every day if possible), and my goal is to take the mundane and make it hilarious.

Also, as a side note, I can’t get enough of your Pie Near persona. Keep it up and let me know when you get a book deal. I’ll buy the first copy (autographed, I hope).

    Very Warm Wishes,

    • LucyJoy:

Love your blog MOV! I love to find new, quirky blogs to follow! It makes me feel so not alone!

      • Thank you LucyJoy! Read my archives! Thank you again Rechelle for the wonderful mention! I am very grateful. MOV

  • Bridget:

I am sure by now you have also heard of Hyperbole and A Half. You two have a similar sense of humor or similar humor writing style. The pictures on that site are what crack me up. But if you haven’t checked it out. I strongly suggest doing so. Right now or whenever you have time.

    I think it is

I might be wrong because I just always type it into google.

    • Rechelle, forgive me for taking this crazy thread here on your blog.

Bridget, I am familiar with Hyperbole and a half. She is my idol and inspiration. In fact, I get all woozy-like just reading that you mentioned her site and my site in the same paragraph– what a fabulous compliment for me! (and insult to her?) I have recently learned to draw a tiny bit on the computer, so I am experimenting with the format and trying to incorporate pics into my writing whenever possible (if it serves the story).

My goal is to make you laugh til you cry and make you want to come back and read more.

Thank you again, Rechelle, for the kind words and the exposure. I am beyond grateful.
