Sledding at Cico Park

January 12th, 2011

Second snow day in a row.

It could only mean one thing…

Sledding at Cico Park.

Don’t know who these kids are, but they were experts at hitting the bump for maximum loft.

Drew and Jack hit it a few times too.

Defrosting in the truck with some hot cocoa from a trusty thermos.

And then it was right back to the slopes to tumble down the hill a hundred more times.

And get back up a hundred more times.

Up

Down

Down

Up

Last trip down.

And then we drug our frozen carcasses home.

Rechelle – didnt see your oldest sledding. Has he gotten to that age where friends are paramount and family participation sort of goes by the wayside? When that happened with mine is was sad but necessary.

    • Rechelle:

Yes. I dropped him off at the mall while we went sledding. I tried to explain the warm cuddles and the cocoa and the rosy cheeked sledding and the happy time with mommy and the brothers, but it did not move him to join us. Teenagers!

  • *pouts* I wanna go sledding! Instead we’ve been subjected to temps in the NEGATIVE teens. Gah! I’d much rather have 300 inches of snow than the bitter bitter cold. I guess instead I’ll have to live vicariously through you. Looks like you had a blast!

My super happy black lab and I had fun this morning while my two hooligans grinned out the window in their PJs. It was/still is really snowing here in New England.

31 inches of snow so far here. I just spent all morning digging out the driveway and sidewalk. Curse you massive long driveway!!!!!
Firefighter husband left yesterday afternoon to be a hero. At this rate we won’t see him till the weekend.
    Hasn’t stopped snowing yet either.
Thank goodness I don’t have to go break ice so my megamoney generating horses can drink:)

    • Rechelle:

      31 inches!?!?!?! Holy….

      • No kidding. Whereabouts in New England are you km? I’m about 15 miles in-land from the Northern New England Seacoast (not Maine) and we’ve gotten about 16′ so far.

        • whoops meant 16 inches NOT feet. :)

Central Ct and high elevation. Great combo. All done now. Snow finished at aroudn 12pm. Looks lovely, but boy, just a bit TOO much of it:)

  • Kait:

It looks like they all wore the snow off the hillside!

  • Oh MAN! That looks like so much fun! I wish I still had a back that could take that kind of abuse!

  • Lee (sometimes known as Another Lee):

Excellent photography!! (NOT that I am a groveling reader or anything…)

  • Alesia:

Great photos Rechelle! I love the ones where they caught air.

  • Inga:

    Snow Days = Wonderful memories

I made my 15 year old play with his 9 year old brother outside during the snow, turns out he still knows how to have a good time!

  • Nancy:

Wow, wow, wow ! What great photos! You really captured the joy of the day. Sweet memories to tuck away.

I am so happy to have discoverd your blog. It’s such a welcome antidote to the “Everywoman” blog. No pretense here. What you see is what you get. Thanks Rechelle.
