That Damned Apostrophe!

September 22nd, 2010

While writing the title for a recent post I suffered through this spasm.  I still don’t know which version is correct.

Jon and Charles and a Ballet Dork in a Mini Chef’s Hat

This version seems to imply that the ballet dork is wearing the hat of a very tiny chef.  (I think…)

Jon and Charles and a Ballet Dork in a Mini Chefs Hat

This one seems to mean that there is more than one chef, but only one of them is mini and has a hat?  Arrrrrrgh!

Jon and Charles and a Ballet Dork in a Mini Chef Hat

Can you say ‘chef hat’?  That sounds wrong to me.  But at least I am not talking about a midget chef nor mixing up my plurals and my singulars!
