We've Had A Little Rain in These Parts

June 19th, 2010

The birdfeeder sprouted.

The Country Doctor has been building a dock to fish from, but after the deluge…

He had to fish for the dock.

In other news…

We are in Branson, Missou(rah) for the weekend.

Last night we went to see Shepherd of the Hills.

And I got my square dancing fix.

It was SO FUN!

There should be more square dancing.

I think I will add it to my version of the ten commandments.

“Thou Shalt Square Dance!”

  • How fun! I’ve always wanted to see Shepherd of the Hills. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend and your home dries out some! That is a lot of rain.

  • MrsD:

I love that you (correctly) named my state! LOL

  • That’s a lot of water.
Maybe you should hedge your bet and build an ark?
Or at least keep your water wings handy….

Never been to Branson but I’d like to someday!

    Stay dry…

  • You should add to that, “Thou Shalt Square Dance…while looking as good as Rechelle in that too-cute skirt & shirt combo!” Hot Mama!

  • Kathy J:

Glad to know you have been getting that rain I sent down south! Relatively dry here but flooding north of here. If it isn’t one think it is another. Good thing I am on high ground.

  • Megan:

We are planning our visit to Missourah next week. We are visiting family on both sides of the state so I doubt there will be square dancing, but you never know! Have a great trip.

  • Nanc in Ashland:

I’m very impressed you can dance in slides! I can barely walk in the darned things. Add me to that cute skirt fan club–where did you get it?

  • Sprouting bird feeders, that’s the best.

  • Got the skirt at Anthropologie last summer. They have the greatest skirts. Plus – lined with cute lace rimmed slip. LOVE THAT!

  • Erin:

I’m so glad you pronounce it Missour-ah! :-)

Your sprouting bird feeder is awesome.

  • jamoody7:

I prefer to refer to it as Miss-ery! Lol! Shouldn’t say that tho, I wouldn’t live anywhere else!

  • Kay in KCMO:

Oh, the rain… And you’re getting more tonight, but you’re not there to rescue anything!

I’ll third (or fourth) the love for the skirt; it’s really darling.

In sixth grade we learned to square dance. The only thing I remember is
“Duck for the oyster, duck…and dive for the clam, dive…”

I’ve never been to Branson, but I’ve heard from others that it’s just awful. Am looking forward to reading about your activities/perceptions. Had you been before?

  • Rechelle:

Kay in KCMO – It is awful in terms of billboards, contrived crap, etc… I thought I would completely hate it, but there have been a few things I have enjoyed.

  • Lori E:

LOVE Anthroplogie. LOVE square dancing. Good times.

  • When I was a child, my best friends parents were square dance callers. So. Much. Fun.

  • Please excuse the grammatical errors in that post. I should not multitask. *sigh*
