May 9th, 2010

It takes a few seconds to load – but I think it is working now.

For any prom dress junkies – there are even more photos up at Farmhouse and Garden.

  • Action Squirrel:

    Prove it.

  • Mistergee:

I did not know Calder was your transparent child.

  • Priss:

I tried to fade into the background at my prom too, but wasn’t nearly as successful ;-)

  • Brian V.:

    a whiter shade of pale….

  • NADA

  • Martha in Kansas:

    He wore white?

You had a freak May snowstorm?

You were so teared up you didn’t notice the lens cap?

You trusted the camera to one of the boys?

    Sun spot?

  • GA in GA:

Did Calder prevent this blog from posting?

  • Pam:

There has to be an invisible son…..

  • Love it!

It’s amazing how fast they grow up…

  • I think he looks very handsome in the bow tie. Looks like there were no really crazy dresses that you see some times. Congratulations on your boy going to the prom. Amazing how fast that happens.

  • Carry:

My oldest is a senior as well. And, coincidentally, was just a chubby little toddler a few days ago too! Damn, time it does fly.

Congrats on getting him to adulthood safe and sound.

  • Action Squirrel:

Gorgeous group! And gorgeous dresses, wow. Looks like they had great weather, too.

  • What a handsome young man, Rechelle! I love that he wore a tie that matches his date’s gown even if it was *shock!* pink. A boy who marches to the beat of his own drum is a treasure.

  • Kathy from NJ:

He is one good looking guy. And a very loving and tolerant son to allow his mother to take all those pics. Thank you Rechelle and Calder.

  • Martha in Kansas:

The transformation when he gets the suit on is astounding. Boy becomes man! And zowie is he handsome! His date is cute and they look fabulous. Hope they had a great time.

  • tess:

    Great video!!

  • I can hardly believe Calder is old enuf to go to prom!! WOW!! He sure is growing into a handsome young man. thanks so much for sharing, Rechelle!!

“There has to be an invisible son…..” Pam/Sting

Hah! Love the comments before the pics showed up. You clever people! Wow, Calder is a good looking young man. My oldest boy is only 12 now so prom seems far away. His feet are now as big as mine, though :) Congrats, Rechelle!

  • sandy:

What a kind looking young man! You must be very proud.

  • Kathy:

So fun to look at these, thanks for sharing! My daughter is going next Friday and I can promise you it will take a LOT longer for her to get ready! Boys don’t know how good they have it!!

  • LucyJoy:

Awww…what a great looking bunch of kids!

  • Diane:

Cute boy, put him in a Tux, WOWZA that’s one handsome man!
Stretch Hummer? How much did this Prom put you back?
Loved looking at all the beautiful dresses…what’s your zip code 90201?!

  • Diane:

    902-1-0

  • handsome kid!!

  • Jaime:

Is that really Calder or some kid you kidnapped to make your blog interesting?! He’s so handsome and grown up… time really does
fly. Enjoy him while you have him. Pretty soon you’ll be waving him
    off to college :)

  • Very handsome, obvious sense of humor. Look out, girls! Great picture-taking as well…enjoyed it (although as the mother of two girls, I’m not looking forward to buying the dresses! Or the prep. Or the waiting for it to be over.)

  • Brian V.:

“Calder, just a split-second ago” sure says it all for this parent.

  • M.R.:

He is so tall! Thanks for sharing!

  • What a handsome young man.
    Thank you for sharing.

    Lori

  • GA in GA:

    Their childhoods pass too quickly!

Very handsome young man, Rechelle. I know you are proud of all of his accomplishments.

  • Samantha:

oh how bittersweet, your little boy is now a young man.

  • Sandy in MI:

So handsome! Thanks for sharing the photos, I enjoyed all of them.

  • Lori E:

    Three things…
    1- What a handsome young man! :)
2- Glad he went with the bow tie if everyone else did ascots…
3- It is a far cry from my prom days!

Thanks for sharing. And did you have to throw in the pic of him as a child? Man, that kind of stuff tears me up…

  • Rechelle, he sure is a handsome young man! Then you had to go and show the baby picture, and I fell to pieces. My son is almost 10 and I could have sworn I just broght him home from the hospital a week or so ago. I’m not ready for him to grow up! I haven’t even lost the baby weight yet!!

  • Maria:

wow. I have been reading you for a few years and you posted all these “little boy” pictures. This makes me feel old. Wow. He’s really all grown up. I feel a catch in the throat. And it’s not because of an atheist post.

    ;)

Good job, Rechelle. He’s a credit.

  • Patricia:

Handsome Young Man !! Goes way to fast……….

  • pamcake:

    Very sweet

  • JJ:

Looks like they were having so much fun – and I love how you put the little boy picture in there!

  • Could you be a bigger show-off? Picasa links that look like
    YOU-TUBE videos—–Sheesh! Wha’ev.

  • Lgirl:

You made me tear up adding that baby photo in there.
Mine are little now and I dread prom night. Little forever works for me.

  • OMG Please don’t ever show anything like this again! It’s too adorable, too cute, too heartwrenching, too bittersweet, and most of all, my reality all too soon.

Your son is so handsome but I think it incredibly unfair that just a split second ago he was a tiny toddler and now he’s a young man. Have you figured out to stop that from happening? When you do, let me know k?

  • km:

He looks so handsome !! What a great looking bunch of kids he and his friends are

  • I am floored. What a handsome man, and a beautiful young lady he took to the prom. Thanks for sharing, Rechelle.
